I witnessed something that still happens When a Baby Girl is Born
Dear readers, this is an old post, but I am sharing it now. My brother had a baby boy, and I was right there when the news first came out; everyone had such different expressions at that moment. It seemed like the efforts put into ensuring the birth of a boy had finally paid off.
I remember the time during the birth of my daughter, the people waiting outside were visibly disappointed the moment they heard the news; it was seem like they would need some time to recover from this shock. Neetu was convinced or make sure by the people around her from the beginning to believe she would definitely have a baby boy. But when a girl was born, there was just silence—there was no true excitement for celebration or welcome. I don't understand why there is such excitement over a boy and such disappointment over a girl.

Neetu was sitting there, holding Vayu (the newborn's name) in her lap. The mother and baby had been shifted to a private ward. Meanwhile, our daughter Prerna was playing with the daughter of some other patient from just our neighbor ward. She bonded so well with this girl that they had practically become friends—drinking water from her bottle and repeatedly climbing up to the corridor gate together.
For three days, my daughter Prerna played with this little girl named Prisha. When Prerna grow up, she won't even remember that she was her's first friend in childhood. There will be many children alike she is going to meet once, play with them and never going to see them again.
This is what can change most in the society
Now let me tell you something that I learned from this day. If you're also expecting a baby, I just want to say one thing from my own experience. Don't wait for the delivery day to prepare your wife or family. Talk to them before the baby is born and make sure they understand that a healthy child is the biggest blessing, whether it's a boy or a girl. The happiness of that moment should never depend on the baby's gender. Your wife also notices every reaction around her after the delivery. Make sure she feels loved, supported and celebrated, no matter who comes into your life. I wish every newborn receives the same welcome and every mother sees the same happiness on everyone's face. Also read on affairslive:
