You don't Need Expensive Toys, Try this with your Kids

Prerna is playing with clay pot pieces
I like this picture very much. It was taken by me in the morning just after my daughter woke up and we went to the roof for playing with these broken pieces of clay pot. We used to crush them and make a powder to mix with water and called it "Dawai, Dai, A Medicine". Yes it sounds funny.

I like to play this game with daughter as it involves sand, dirt etc. It's kind of good for kids and their immunity. Heard somewhere that kids should play with sand to a good growth. In her school there is also a artificial sand pot for kids to play with. I found it also good for connecting with her.

Prerna crush them with a stone or rub it on the roof. After that we mix water and let it settle or dry into the sunlight. I found it also creative for such nursery kids that helps in being creative or curious.

A small thought

What I like about this game is that there is no expensive toy involved or following any instructions. She is just crushing those pieces, mixing with water and imagining that she is making some kind of medicine. This kind of free play gives a child to use their own imagination.

I feel that children don't need expensive toys every time.A broken clay pot, some sand and some space are enough to spend a good time with your kids. Such kind of free play give me chance to understand that how she thinks and what kind of things make her curious.

Prerna may not remember what toy I brought for her, but she will remember sitting with me, making something with own hands and having fun!
