I'm posting this for pointing out one thing that why the roads and streets in India allow moving such flock of animals like sheep, goat, cow etc freely. It blocks the whole transport system and having chances of major accidents. Sometime, when it's cows, they can hit a car, bike or the rider, and can cause serious injury. Then who will be the responsible for that.
However this is not a big road, this is small road inside my village. But my concern is for all roads whether it's a small or big. I'm talking about the safety of people and animals both. So whats's the solution here, that the traffic can easily move.
This is what can be done
The government can't make separate road for these herds or flocks, this is not a practical solution. But there should be some basic rules for moving such big flock of animals on public road. If someone moves hundreds of cows, sheep or goats, there should be a proper way without blocking the complete road. The Shepherds or the owner of the herd should have enough people to control the herd on road.
The Shepherds should avoid peak traffic hours and take the less busy route. Government can also spread awareness for the animal owners about road safety and can make a few traffic and road safety rules. And make sure that these animal owners follow these rules by applying a fine or something.
We also need to understand that, these animals are not responsible for being on road. This is how our system is made and lack of awareness in people. There are thousands of accidents happens every year in India due to such moving animals on roads, mostly cows and dogs. We need to protect both people and these animals by spreading awareness for contributing in a safe traffic flow on the road.
